Following the
successful start of the Experimental Stage with the performance “Thoughts” by Angelos
Spartalis, the Municipal Regional Thetare of Rhodes presents the theatre play “The
Journey of the Ants or Life as a Theatre?” by the Austrian director Martin
Scharnhorst.
 Martin Scharnhorst has studied Theatre Studies and German
Literature at the University of Vienna, Austria. He has worked for the State Theatre
(volksteater) of Vienna, the Theatre Festival (wien festwochen) of Vienna, the State
Theatre House (schausqielhaus) of Leipzig, the State Theatre of Salzburg, the State
Theatre of Lower Austria, the State Opera of Vienna (Kammeroper) and elsewhere.

 “The Journey of the Ants or Life as a Theatre?” is a set
of “short length” stories; stories that shift through roles and cases of everyday
life, swinging among agreements, the various facets of life, the ridicule and the
stripping of the characters. It is a play for an actor, an actress (Kosmas
Chirakis, Evelyn Antoniou) and one painter (Angelos Spartalis);
a play that guides us at various locations of the theatre, which transform accordingly and
integrate into the play…
